Klaus Koren
Assistant Professor

Klaus Koren is an Assistant Professor working at Aarhus University with a focus on the development and application of novel chemical sensors.

He got his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Graz University of Technology in 2012. While as a PhD student he was working on the synthesis and characterization of novel sensor materials, he decided to focus on sensor application environmental monitoring afterwards. As a post-doctoral fellow (2013-2018) he used optical sensors to study chemical dynamics in marine/aquatic habitats.

In 2018 he joined Aarhus University as an Assistant Professor and received the danish starting grant (DFF Sapere Aude). He works within the Aarhus University Center for Water Technology (WATEC) and focuses on developing and applying sensors throughout the water cycle.
