Brain Body Dynamics

Brain-body dynamics describes the continuous, bidirectional communication between the brain and the body that shapes behavior, physiology, and adaptive responses. Neural, endocrine, and immune signals travel through pathways such as the autonomic nervous system, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, and interoceptive networks, allowing bodily states to influence brain activity while brain processes regulate organs and tissues. Studying these interactions helps explain how stress, emotion, motivation, and social context affect behavior, and how behavioral experiences alter physiological function. This framework supports research on health, learning, mental disorders, and interventions that target both psychological and bodily processes.

Stereotactic ablative body radiation therapy (SBRT) involves the precise delivery of high-dose radiation to cancer tumor targets. A novel SBRT platform offers a first-of-its-kind gimbaled radiation accelerator mounted within a pivoting O-ring gantry capable of dynamic image-guided tumor tracking. Here, we describe dynamic tumor tracking for lung targets.

This manuscript describes a protocol that applies comprehensive profiling for analysis of transcriptional programs induced in specific brain nuclei of rodents following behavioral paradigms. Herein, this approach is illustrated in the context of profiling genes induced in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) of mice following acute cocaine exposure, utilizing microfluidic qPCR arrays.

Visualizing Mushroom Body Neurons in Drosophila Brains via Immunostaining
