Component Process Model

A Component Process Model is a framework that explains behavior by representing it as interacting components and the processes linking them. By separating inputs, internal operations, states, and outputs, the model shows how information or conditions are transformed into observable responses, including how feedback can alter subsequent behavior. In behavioral science, this structure helps researchers connect measurable events to underlying mechanisms, compare competing explanations, and simulate or predict outcomes across changing conditions. It can also guide experiments by identifying which component or process requires direct testing.

Pharmacokinetic–Pharmacodynamic Relationship: Model Components

2026

Pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK–PD) modeling is essential in drug development and clinical pharmacology. It provides a quantitative framework to predict drug behavior and response over time. This approach integrates pharmacokinetics (PK), which describes the drug's absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion, with pharmacodynamics (PD), which characterizes the drug’s biological effects and mechanisms of action. The disposition kinetics of a drug determine its plasma...

2023

Here we describe constructing a basic three-dimensional (3D) intestinal cell line model system and a paraffin embedding protocol for light microscopic evaluation of fixed intestinal equivalents. Staining of selected proteins permits the analysis of multiple visual parameters from a single experiment for potential use in preclinical drug screening studies.
