Computerized Assessment

Computerized assessment is a method for measuring behavior, cognition, or performance through standardized tasks delivered and scored by a computer. During testing, software presents stimuli, records responses and response times, and applies predefined scoring rules to produce consistent quantitative data under controlled conditions. In behavioral research, computerized assessment can evaluate attention, memory, decision-making, learning, and other observable or performance-based processes while reducing manual scoring demands. Its reproducible format supports comparisons across participants and repeated measurements over time, although researchers must consider device familiarity, accessibility, task validity, and the extent to which computer-based performance reflects behavior in everyday settings.

Individuals with intermittent claudication exhibit poor balance compared to healthy controls. Computerized dynamic posturography is an objective method for measuring an individual's postural responses to balance disturbances. This provides an objective reflection of the person’s ability to respond to situations under which sensory stimuli are altered and unexpected perturbations occur.
