Data Ingestion Synchronization

Data ingestion synchronization is the coordinated process of collecting, aligning, and updating data from multiple sources so that downstream systems receive a consistent and timely representation. It typically uses timestamps, source identifiers, checkpoints, and synchronization rules to order incoming records, detect duplicates, resolve conflicts, and recover from interruptions without losing changes. In behavior research, this process helps combine observations from surveys, experiments, sensors, and digital interactions while preserving the sequence and context of events. Reliable synchronization improves data quality, supports reproducible analyses, and enables researchers to identify meaningful behavioral patterns across individuals, environments, and time.

AC Synchronous Machine Synchronization

Source: Ali Bazzi, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. Three-phase wound-rotor synchronous generators are the main source of electrical power worldwide. They require a prime mover and an exciter in order to generate power. The prime mover can be a turbine spun by fluid (gas or liquid), thus the sources of the fluid can be water running off a dam through a long nozzle, steam from water evaporated using burned coal, etc. Most power plants including coal,...

The protocol focuses on the collection of sea turtle samples, describing all the steps from the animal recovery and necropsy to the classification and quantification of ingested marine litter. Moreover, the representative results show how to use the collected data to elaborate the possible thresholds for Good Environmental Status.

AC Synchronous Machine Characterization

Source: Ali Bazzi, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. Three-phase wound-rotor synchronous motors are less popular than permanent magnet rotor synchronous motors due to the brushes required for the rotor field. Synchronous generators are much more common and available in most existing power plants, as they have excellent frequency and voltage regulation. Synchronous motors have the advantage of almost 0% speed regulation due to the fact that the rotor...

Alignment of Synchronized Time-Series Data Using the Characterizing Loss of Cell Cycle Synchrony Model for Cross-Experiment Comparisons

One challenge of analyzing synchronized time-series experiments is that the experiments often differ in the length of recovery from synchrony and the cell-cycle period. Thus, the measurements from different experiments cannot be analyzed in aggregate or readily compared. Here, we describe a method for aligning experiments to allow for phase-specific comparisons.
