Virtual Walking Classes

Virtual walking classes are instructor-led exercise sessions delivered online, enabling participants to walk in place or follow guided routines from home or another convenient setting. Through live or recorded video, instructors provide visual demonstrations, verbal cues, pacing, and rest intervals that help participants regulate movement intensity and sustain engagement. In behavioral research, these classes offer a practical model for examining physical-activity adoption, exercise adherence, motivation, and the influence of social support in remote environments. They can also improve access to structured movement for people facing transportation, scheduling, or location barriers, supporting scalable strategies for promoting regular physical activity.
