Dna Extraction Kit

A DNA extraction kit is a collection of reagents and materials used to isolate genomic or plasmid DNA from biological samples for analysis in biology and related research. The procedure typically breaks open cells through lysis, removes proteins and other contaminants, and captures DNA on a silica membrane or magnetic beads in the presence of binding salts; washing removes impurities before purified DNA is eluted. Extracted DNA supports polymerase chain reaction, sequencing, genotyping, cloning, and other molecular biology applications. Standardized kits simplify sample processing, improve reproducibility, and help researchers obtain DNA suitable for downstream experiments.

We are describing a new method of isolating genomic DNA from whole blood collected for plasma/serology. After plasma collection, the compacted blood is usually discarded. Our novel method represents a significant improvement over existing methods and makes DNA and plasma available from a single collection, without requesting additional blood.
