Early Pressure Method

The Early Pressure Method is a biological technique that applies controlled mechanical pressure during the initial stage of a cellular, tissue, or developmental process to assess pressure-dependent responses. By regulating pressure magnitude, timing, and duration, researchers alter the mechanical forces experienced by biological structures and observe resulting changes in deformation, organization, transport, or signaling. Comparing early pressure exposure with untreated controls can reveal when mechanical cues influence growth, morphogenesis, and functional development. This approach supports research in cell biology, developmental biology, and mechanobiology by linking physical forces to biological outcomes and helping clarify how early mechanical conditions shape later structure and behavior.

The laser heated diamond anvil cell combined with synchrotron micro-diffraction techniques allows researchers to explore the nature and properties of new phases of matter at extreme pressure and temperature (PT) conditions. Heterogeneous samples can be characterized in situ under high pressure by 2D mapping and combined powder, single-crystal and multigrain diffraction approaches.

(2022)This video demonstrates a syringe-based pressure method for extracting apoplastic bacteria, which proliferate and form microcolonies within the apoplast, the intercellular space between plant cells. The method yields debris-free bacterial samples suitable for downstream single-cell analysis.

Spatial Measurement of Tumor Interstitial Fluid Pressure: A Method to Measure the Interstitial Fluid Pressure
