Featherweight Forceps

Featherweight forceps are lightweight, fine-tipped laboratory instruments designed for precise handling of small, fragile, or delicate materials. Their thin arms use spring tension to open when released and bring the tips together when the user applies gentle pressure, allowing controlled manipulation with minimal obstruction and reduced risk of crushing specimens. In biology, researchers use them during dissections, microdissection, specimen preparation, and the transfer or positioning of tissues, embryos, insects, and other small samples. Their low mass and sensitive grip improve dexterity under a microscope and support reproducible handling when conventional forceps are too large, rigid, or forceful.
