Fixed Tissue Analysis

Fixed tissue analysis is the examination of biological tissues preserved to maintain their structure, molecular components, and spatial organization for detailed study. The process typically uses chemical fixation to stabilize tissue, followed by dehydration, embedding, thin sectioning, and staining or labeling that makes cells and tissue features visible under microscopy. In biology, these methods support histology, developmental research, disease investigation, and evaluation of cellular responses to experimental conditions. By preserving tissue architecture at a defined time point, fixed tissue analysis provides reproducible evidence of morphology, protein or nucleic acid localization, and changes associated with normal function or pathology.
