Liver Tissue Imaging

Liver tissue imaging encompasses microscopy and related methods used to visualize the liver’s cellular organization, tissue architecture, vasculature, and pathological changes. These approaches generate contrast through tissue stains, fluorescent labels, or intrinsic optical properties, then capture two-dimensional sections or optical planes for analysis of hepatocytes, bile ducts, blood vessels, and extracellular structures. In biology, liver tissue imaging supports studies of development, metabolism, regeneration, fibrosis, tumors, and drug-induced injury. Quantitative image analysis can reveal changes in cell morphology, tissue organization, and disease progression, linking microscopic structure to liver function and improving experimental and diagnostic research.
