Lymphoma Biomarker Analysis

Lymphoma biomarker analysis is the study of measurable molecular, cellular, or tissue features that help identify and characterize lymphoma, a diverse group of cancers affecting the lymphatic system. It uses methods such as immunophenotyping, histopathology, and molecular testing to detect protein expression, genetic alterations, and other signals in tumor samples, blood, or lymph node tissue. These findings support lymphoma classification, prognosis, treatment selection, and monitoring of disease response or recurrence. By linking biomarker patterns with tumor biology and clinical outcomes, the approach strengthens diagnostic precision and contributes to research on targeted therapies and personalized cancer care.

2023

Source: Laboratory of Jeff Salacup - University of Massachusetts Amherst Throughout this series of videos, natural samples were extracted and purified in search of organic compounds, called biomarkers, that can relate information on climates and environments of the past. One of the samples analyzed was sediment. Sediments accumulate over geologic time in basins, depressions in the Earth into which sediment flows through the action of fluid (water or air), movement, and gravity. Two main types...

Neutrophils are the most abundant type of white blood cells. The isolation of neutrophils from human blood by density gradient separation method and the differentiation of human promyelocytic (HL60) cells along the granulocytic pathway are described here; to test their role on sensitivity of lymphoma cells to anti-lymphoma agents.

Determining the Role of Neutrophil-Like Cells in Lymphoma Cell Sensitivity to a Test Drug

This video demonstrates an assay investigating the role of neutrophil-like cells in safeguarding lymphoma cells against the cytotoxicity of chemotherapeutic agents. A 3D co-culture, consisting of lymphoma and neutrophil-like cells, is established and exposed to vincristine—a chemotherapy drug. Direct contact with the neutrophil-like cells induces an upregulation of anti-apoptotic proteins in the lymphoma cells, thereby promoting their survival in the presence of vincristine.
