Talin Vinculin Tensin

Talin, vinculin, and tensin are cytoskeletal adaptor proteins that organize integrin-based cell adhesions and connect the extracellular matrix to the actin cytoskeleton. At focal adhesions, talin binds the cytoplasmic tails of integrins and actin, while mechanical tension exposes vinculin-binding sites that recruit vinculin and reinforce the molecular linkage; tensin associates with integrin adhesion complexes and actin to support adhesion organization and signaling. Their coordinated activity regulates cell attachment, spreading, migration, and mechanotransduction, making them important for understanding tissue architecture, wound repair, development, and diseases involving abnormal cell adhesion.
