3d Tomographic Model

A 3D tomographic model is a three-dimensional representation of internal structures reconstructed from multiple two-dimensional projections, allowing biological organization to be examined without physically sectioning a specimen. Computational algorithms align projection data and reconstruct spatial information into volumetric images that reveal tissue architecture, cellular distribution, and structural relationships. In cancer research, these models help characterize tumor morphology, assess invasion and vascular organization, and compare changes during disease progression or treatment. By linking imaging data with quantitative measurements, 3D tomographic models support more precise analysis of tumor biology and can improve the evaluation of diagnostic methods and therapeutic responses.

A methodology is described herein for representing anatomical imaging data within crystals. We create scaled three-dimensional models of biomedical imaging data for use in Sub-Surface Laser Engraving (SSLE) of crystal glass. This tool offers a useful complement to computational display or three-dimensionally printed models used within clinical or educational settings.
