Frontal Detection

Frontal detection is the identification of boundaries between contrasting air masses, where changes in temperature, pressure, humidity, and wind mark a transition in the atmosphere. It combines surface observations, weather-station data, satellite imagery, and radar to locate zones with strong gradients and to distinguish warm, cold, stationary, or occluded fronts. In environmental science, frontal detection supports weather forecasting, precipitation prediction, and analysis of storm development. Reliable identification of these moving boundaries also helps researchers monitor atmospheric circulation, interpret severe-weather risk, and improve models of short-term weather and longer-term climate processes.

Here, we present a protocol to describe the epilepsy outcome and complications of 8 patients with mild malformation of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia in epilepsy (MOGHE) in the frontal lobe after frontal disconnection. The procedure is characterized by its simplicity, user-friendliness, and fewer postoperative complications.

Continuous Theta Burst Stimulation of the Posterior Medial Frontal Cortex to Experimentally Reduce Ideological Threat Responses

2018

Threats reliably evoke shifts in high-level ideological investment, but little work to date has explored the neural mechanisms underlying these dynamics. This paper describes how continuous theta burst transcranial magnetic stimulation may be employed to test the contribution of the posterior medial frontal cortex (and/or other regions) to threat-related ideological shifts.
