River Bottom Installation

River bottom installation is the placement and securing of equipment, materials, or engineered structures on a riverbed to support environmental monitoring, habitat work, or water-management projects. The process typically involves surveying depth and sediment conditions, positioning the installation at the selected location, and anchoring or embedding it so that flowing water and sediment movement do not displace it. Such installations can support sensors, restoration features, protective infrastructure, or subsurface crossings, depending on project goals. Careful design and installation help limit disturbance to aquatic habitats while improving long-term stability, data collection, and river management.

2016

Special care using "clean techniques" is required to properly collect and process water samples for trace metal studies in aquatic environments. A protocol for sampling, processing, and analytical procedures with the aim of obtaining reliable environmental monitoring data and results with high sensitivity for detailed trace metal studies is presented.

Installation of Optical Windows in the Brain of Transgenic Mice to Image Neural Activities

2025

This video demonstrates the brain's neural activity recording through an optical window in transgenic mice. The mice express a fluorescent protein that enables the detection of neural activities. A small portion of the skull is carefully removed to install an optical window, and the skull is then covered with black cement to block light before imaging.

Installation Method to Enhance Quality Control for Fiber Reinforced Polymer Spike Anchors

This manuscript presents a method for controlling the quality of installation for spike anchors designed to delay delamination of externally bonded fiber reinforced polymers. The protocol includes the preparation of the drill hole and the insertion process. The most influential parameters on the efficiency of the anchors are discussed.

Cranial Ring Assembly Installation in Mouse Model: A Surgical Procedure to Implant Visualization Window Assembly on Murine Skull for High-resolution Skull Bone Marrow Imaging
