Standardized Monitoring Protocol

A standardized monitoring protocol is a predefined framework for collecting environmental data consistently across locations and time, making observations comparable and interpretable. It specifies target indicators, sampling sites, frequency, measurement methods, quality-control procedures, and data-recording requirements, reducing variation caused by different observers or conditions. In environmental research and management, these protocols support the detection of pollution, habitat change, and ecological trends while providing reliable evidence for regulatory assessment and conservation decisions. Repeated measurements collected under the same procedures also strengthen long-term comparisons, enable early identification of environmental change, and improve coordination among laboratories, field teams, and monitoring programs.

Standardized Protocol For Monitoring Muscle Fatigue and Biomechanics In Amateur Cyclists Using Infrared Thermography

2026

Cycling biomechanics relies on efficient muscle activation and core stabilization. Infrared thermography (IRT) offers non-invasive monitoring of muscle fatigue. This protocol establishes a standardized methodology for integrating IRT into biomechanical analysis, aiming to optimize performance and prevent injury in amateur cyclists through precise physiological monitoring.

2026

Here, we describe a standardized protocol for motor mapping using nTMS combined with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)-based reconstruction of the corticospinal tract (CST). The protocol is reproducible, clinically feasible, and readily integrable into routine clinical workflows, providing a robust and valuable framework for motor pathway assessment, neuroplasticity research, and rehabilitation planning.

A fundamental aspect of assessing the welfare of animals in captivity is to ask whether the animals have what they want. Here, we present a protocol to determine housing preference in the zebrafish (Danio rerio) with respect to the presence/absence of environmental enrichment and access to flowing of water.
