Clinimacs Prodigy

The CliniMACS Prodigy is an automated, closed cell-processing platform designed to isolate, culture, modify, and formulate therapeutic immune cells with reduced manual handling. Using a disposable tubing set, the system integrates magnetic cell selection with controlled washing, activation, transduction, expansion, and harvest steps according to a programmed workflow. In immunology and infection research, it supports reproducible preparation of T cells, natural killer cells, and other leukocyte populations for functional studies, adoptive cell therapy development, and investigation of host responses to infectious disease. Its standardized processing can improve consistency, scalability, and biosafety when translating laboratory protocols toward clinical applications.

The goal of this protocol is to manufacture pathogen-specific clinical-grade T cells using a bench-top, automated, second generation cell enrichment device that incorporates a closed cytokine capture system and does not require dedicated staff or use of a GMP facility. The cytomegalovirus pp65-specific-T cells generated can be directly administered to patients.
