Surgical Scissors

Surgical scissors are precision instruments used to cut, dissect, or separate biological tissues, sutures, and other materials during medical and laboratory procedures. They work through the controlled alignment of two opposing blades, which apply focused force as the handles close; blade shape, sharpness, and tip design determine whether the instrument is suited for delicate tissue, blunt dissection, or material cutting. In immunology and infection research, surgical scissors support tissue collection, organ dissection, biopsy preparation, and trimming of specimens for histology, culture, or molecular analysis. Proper sterilization and aseptic handling help prevent contamination and preserve the reliability of downstream experiments.
