Tumor Lysate Preparation

Tumor lysate preparation is the process of converting tumor tissue or cultured tumor cells into a cellular extract that retains a broad mixture of tumor-associated antigens for immunological study. Tissue is disrupted by mechanical or physical lysis under controlled, cold conditions, then clarified to remove insoluble debris while preserving soluble proteins and other antigenic components; the resulting lysate can be quantified, aliquoted, and stored for later use. In immunology and infection research, these preparations support antigen presentation assays, dendritic-cell stimulation, antibody or T-cell response analysis, and evaluation of tumor vaccines, helping investigators assess how immune cells recognize and respond to complex tumor material.
