Simplified Form

Simplified form is an equivalent way of writing a mathematical expression, equation, or quantity with fewer operations and no unnecessary complexity, while preserving its value or meaning. In algebra, simplification commonly involves combining like terms, applying the distributive property, factoring, and canceling common factors in fractions, subject to restrictions such as nonzero denominators; numerical expressions also use order of operations. Writing results in simplified form makes patterns, relationships, and solutions easier to interpret and compare. It supports equation solving, fraction and polynomial manipulation, function analysis, and clear communication across arithmetic, algebra, calculus, and applied mathematics.

2013

This paper demonstrates a protocol for recasting experimental simplified model limits into conservative and aggressive limits on an arbitrary new physics model. Publicly available LHC experimental results can be recast in this manner into limits on almost any new physics model with a supersymmetry-like signature.

Application of Simplified Stent-bridging Pancreaticogastrostomy in Open Pancreaticoduodenectomy

2026

Here, we present the stent-bridging pancreaticogastrostomy (PG) technique, which uses a stent to bridge the remnant pancreas to the stomach during open pancreaticoduodenectomy. The stent-bridging PG aims to simplify the anastomosis, achieve complete diversion of pancreatic juice, and minimize manipulation of the pancreatic remnant.

Point-Slope Form

2026

Point-slope form is a method for expressing the equation of a straight line when its slope and the coordinates of one point on the line are known. It is particularly useful because it directly connects the slope, which describes the line’s rate of change, with a specific point through which the line passes. The slope of a line measures how much the vertical coordinate changes relative to a change in the horizontal coordinate. A positive slope shows that y increases as x increases, while a...

A Simplified System for Evaluating Cell Mechanosensing and Durotaxis In Vitro

Many mammalian cells preferentially migrate towards a more rigid matrix or substrate through durotaxis. The goal of this protocol is to provide a simple in vitro system that can be used to study and manipulate cell durotaxis behaviors by incorporating polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrates of defined rigidity, interfacing with glass coverslips.

A Simplified Technique for Producing an Ischemic Wound Model

We have developed a minimally invasive technique to create a rabbit ischemic ear wound model by dividing the central artery and nerve and the cranial neurovascular bundle. A subcutaneous tunnel then cuts all subcutaneous tissues. This procedure causes minimal skin disruption and can be safely used in diabetic animals.
