Combined Behavior Scale

The Combined Behavior Scale is a clinical assessment tool that integrates observations of multiple behavioral domains into a structured measure, helping healthcare professionals characterize symptoms and monitor changes over time. It works by assigning standardized ratings to selected behaviors and combining those scores into an overall profile or severity estimate, improving consistency compared with unstructured observation alone. In medicine, this approach can support screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evaluation of response to intervention. By converting complex behavioral observations into comparable data, the scale may improve communication among clinicians and provide a practical outcome measure for clinical research.

Behavioral Characterization of Pentylenetetrazole-induced Seizures: Moving Beyond the Racine Scale

2025

The protocol introduces an innovative method for analyzing and visualizing behaviors associated with pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures in mice. This approach extends beyond traditional Racine's scores, providing a more comprehensive evaluation of the diversity and temporal dynamics of ictal behaviors.

Hydronium and hydroxide ions are present both in pure water and in all aqueous solutions, and their concentrations are inversely proportional as determined by the ion product of water (Kw). The concentrations of these ions in a solution are often critical determinants of the solution’s properties and the chemical behaviors of its other solutes. Two different solutions can differ in their hydronium or hydroxide ion concentrations by a million, billion, or even trillion times. A common means of...
