Jama Benchmark

JAMA Benchmark is a standardized evaluation framework for measuring how accurately and reliably medical artificial intelligence systems handle clinically relevant questions and tasks. It typically presents models with curated medical cases or question sets and compares their responses with expert-validated answers using measures such as accuracy, diagnostic reasoning, consistency, and robustness. In medicine, benchmarking helps researchers assess whether a system can support evidence-based decision-making beyond general language performance, identify weaknesses across specialties, and compare models under consistent conditions. These evaluations can guide safer clinical translation, improve model development, and clarify where human oversight remains essential.

Source: Smaa Koraym at Johns Hopkins University, MD, USA Concentration DependenceExpand In this experiment, you will combine varying concentrations of aqueous HCl and sodium thiosulfate to make solid sulfur, which rapidly gathers into opaque yellow particles at a certain sulfur concentration. Since the reaction solution starts clear and colorless, you can easily tell when it reaches that concentration. You'll use the same test tube and total volume each time, so it will take the same amount...

Source: Jennifer A. Ouellet and Jaideep Talwalkar; Yale School of Medicine To meet the needs of older adults, all health professionals should be well acquainted with the history and physical examination considerations unique to this population. Physical examination plays an important role in the older patient to detect physiologic changes of aging, risk factors, and signs of pathology. While most of the general principles of the standard examination for adults apply to older patients, there are...

A Computational Pipeline for Intergenic/Intragenic Enhancer RNA Quantification in Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells

2025

This protocol provides a streamlined computational pipeline for quantifying nascent enhancer transcripts. By integrating chromatin accessibility, chromatin feature, and transcriptional data, it enables accurate detection and strand-specific analysis of enhancer activity in complex intragenic regions, while remaining accessible to researchers without extensive bioinformatics training.
