Cell Health Assessment

Cell health assessment is the evaluation of cellular viability, structure, and function to determine whether cells remain alive and physiologically stable. It combines measurements such as metabolic activity, membrane integrity, morphology, and indicators of apoptosis or stress, often using fluorescent probes, imaging, or biochemical assays that detect changes in specific cellular processes. In neuroscience, these assessments help characterize the effects of injury, disease-related conditions, genetic changes, or experimental treatments on neurons and glial cells. Reliable health measurements support studies of neurotoxicity, neuroprotection, drug development, and cellular models of neurological disorders by distinguishing functional damage from cell loss.
