Netrin-1 Treatment

Netrin-1 treatment refers to the experimental use of the guidance molecule netrin-1 to influence neuronal development, survival, and repair in the nervous system. As a secreted cue, netrin-1 binds receptors such as DCC and UNC5, activating signaling pathways that direct axon growth and guidance while modulating cell survival and synaptic function. In neuroscience research, this approach is being investigated for its potential to support neural regeneration, recovery after injury, and treatment strategies for neurodegenerative disease. Its therapeutic value depends on controlling dosage, delivery, receptor-specific effects, and the distinct responses of developing and mature neural tissue.
