Investigator Brochure

An Investigator Brochure is a structured document that compiles nonclinical and clinical information about an investigational medicinal product, helping researchers assess its pharmacology, safety, and potential benefits. It integrates findings on pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, formulation, and previous human exposure to explain how the product acts in the body and under which conditions it may pose risks. Investigators use this evidence to guide study design, dosing, safety monitoring, and informed discussions with participants. Regulatory authorities and ethics committees also rely on the brochure to evaluate whether proposed clinical research has a reasonable scientific basis and an acceptable risk-benefit profile.
