Ludwig M. Heindl graduated from the Erlangen Medical School in 2006 and received training in clinical ophthalmology and ophthalmic pathology at the Department of Ophthalmology, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Since November 2011 he served as a senior consultant in general ophthalmology, ophthalmic oncology and ophthalmic pathology at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Cologne, Germany. Here in January 2013 he became head of the Oculoplastic and Orbital Service as well as head of the Ophthalmic Oncology Center, being responsible for patient care, teaching and research in both fields.
