Professor Lai has been engaged in biomedical material research over 32 years. His research scopes are to identify the mechanisms of tissue repair and regeneration and to develop strategies for tissue engineering, and followed by molecular imaging. Series of bone and cartilage regenerative materials and technologies were established. He also developed several program projects including tissue engineering in eardrum, bone, cartilage, and joint and molecular imaging system in bone, cartilage and joint, and cancer metastasis. Currently, Dr. Lai serves as professor and consultant at Department of Research, Taipei Medical University Shuang Ho Hospital.
