Ozgur Oksuz is a postdoctoral associate in the Whitehead Institute, MIT. He received his undergraduate from Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey and a Ph.D. from the New York University. As a graduate student, he worked in Danny Reinberg's lab and studied how epigenetically inheritable Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2) is initially recruited to specific genomic loci in mammals. He then moved to Richard Young's lab at the Whitehead Institute to continue his training as a postdoctoral researcher. His long-term goal is to understand the mechanisms regulating heterochromatin organization in healthy cells and how they are altered in aging-associated human diseases
