Biography

Bainca Vezzani is a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Morphology, Surgery and Experimental Medicine, Section of General Pathology, Oncology and Experimental Biology at the University of Ferrara. She received her undergraduate with honors degree from the University of Ferrara, and her master with honors degree from the University of Siena.

She received a European Ph.D in Molecular Medicine from the University of Siena. During her Ph.D she focused her reaserches on cell biology and regenerative medicine developing cellular models for skeletal muscle diseases. As a post-doctoral fellow at the MRC Center for Regenerative Medicine, University of Edinburgh, in Prof. Peault's lab, she has investigated the role of different subtypes of perivascular cells in tissue regeneration and repair. Moreover she analysed the secretome of microfragmented adipose tissue normally used for regenerative pourposes. Now, Dr. Vezzani is focusing her attention on the role of adipose tissue in cancer biology.
