Biography

Anna Laura Voigt is a PhD Student at the University of Calgary. She works since September 2017 with the research group of Dr. Ina Dobrinski on male germ line stem cells in a porcine model. She is specifically working on metabolism and the culture system of spermatogonial stem cells.

Anna Voigt graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Leipzig in 2017 as a veterinarian. During her studies she was supported by the German National Scholarship. She was working as a student assistant in the Institute of Physiological Chemistry specifically in veterinary care taking and handling of common marmosets and received veterinary training for primates within an externship at the Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC), Rijswijk. In 2016 she conducted a research study on the assessment of parasite infestation in endangered primates of Cuc Phuong National Park in the Endangered Primate Rescue Center (EPRC), Vietnam.

Anna Voigt is a fellow of the German Scholarship Foundation since 2018 and received a research grant from the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) for her PhD research project in the lab of Dr. Ina Dobrinski.
