William J. Pinamont

William (Bill) Pinamont is a research assistant at the Center for Orthopaedic Research and Translational Science (CORTS) in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the Penn State College of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Anatomy from the Penn State College of Medicine.

During his graduate studies, Bill became interested in Orthopaedic research focussed on improving clinical outcomes and patient quality of life in chronic diseases such as osteoarthritis. As a masters student, Bill completed his thesis with Dr. Fadia Kamal in the Department of Orthopaedics, focussed on a novel therapeutic approach to combat osteoarthritis progression. Following graduation, Bill has continued working for Dr. Kamal as a research assistant while deciding on future plans.

Bill has represented the Kamal Lab and the Penn State College of Medicine at national and international conferences. He is focussed on combining their in vivo and in vitro models to further their interest in understanding novel signaling pathways in osteoarthritis development and progression, focussed on the development of translational therapeutic options to positively impact the standard of care in the field, providing improved patient outcomes and quality of life.
