Biography

Joseph Sukinik is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. His course of study is bioengineering, and his planned graduation date is May, 2021. He hopes to attend medical school after graduation with the goal of becoming a surgeon, specialty to be decided.

He has research interests in biomechanics, medical device manufacturing and testing, and vascular genetics through his time at the NIH. He spent one summer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute under the guidance of Dr. Beth Kozel. He has also worked in several other labs at the University of Pittsburgh, including the Medical Device Manufacturing Lab under the guidance of Dr. Youngjae Chun and in the Human Movement and Balance Lab under Dr. Kurt Beschorner.
