Biography

Ryan McGorty received his PhD in Physics from Harvard University in 2011. He worked on developing digital holographic microscopy to study colloids at fluid interfaces. McGorty then was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, San Francisco where he worked on super-resolution and light-sheet microscopy techniques. He started at the University of San Diego in 2015. His lab (https://rmcgorty.github.io/) worked on developing new microscopy techniques and on micro- and bulk rheology of colloidal and biological materials.
