Autopsy by forensic pathologist is a main mean currently to determine the cause of sudden unexpected death. Retinal examination is important but seldom performed during a forensic autopsy for various reasons. The value of retina examination has not been recognized. With invention of ophthalmic endoscopy and its subsequent application in postmortem retina examination, it has proved to be useful adjunct to determine the cause of death and to estimate the postmortem interval.

In recent years, the traffic accidents increased gradually, especially those caused by the drivers daily emotional abnormality and in which the drivers were liable. This article reviewed the traffic accidents caused by divorced driver's emotional abnormality, illustrated the features of those accidents from the gender, age, occupation and mileage of drivers. It was considered that the major cause of those accidents was excessive drinking due to drivers' emotional stress. Suggestions about preventing the traffic accidents caused by emotional abnormality were put forward so as to make the corresponding rules and finally decrease the emotional abnormality traffic accidents.

Laparotomy was formerly the routine approach for treating traumatic splenic rupture. Traumatic splenic rupture has traditionally been treated with open splenectomy. The advent of laparoscopy and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has ushered in new approaches to this surgical problem. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of laparoscopic RFA to treat traumatic splenic rupture.

 Platinum compounds are commonly used for lung cancer treatment. However, the severe side effects and relatively poor prognosis limit their therapeutic effect. Therefore, developing novel platinum derivative and treatment strategy are critical for current lung cancer therapy.  Flow cytometry, HMGB1 and ATP release, and immunoblotting were performed to evaluate the Oxaliplatin-induced immunogenic cell death (ICD) in two lung carcinoma cells. Vaccination approach and subcutaneous tumor models were created to analyze the tumor regression effect of Oxaliplatin. PD-L1 mRNA and protein levels were detected in LLC (Lewis lung carcinoma). Enhanced therapeutic efficacy of LLC was assessed by co-administration Oxaliplatin and aPD-L1 in murine lung tumor model.  Oxaliplatin induced robust ICD in LLC cells, activated dendritic cells (DCs, CD80CD86) and enhanced cytotoxic T cells (CD8) in LLC tumor tissues, which resulted in tumor regression. Co-administration of Oxaliplatin and checkpoint inhibitor, aPD-L1, could enhance the therapeutic efficacy of LLC in murine lung carcinoma.  This study reveals Oxaliplatin can induce robust ICD in tumor tissues and suppress tumor growth by activating DCs and enhancing T-cell infiltration. Notably, the Oxaliplatin-induced ICD provides an immunogenic microenvironment, which enhances the checkpoint inhibitor therapeutic efficacy of LLC.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a distinctive neoplasm that frequently arises in the lung and accounts for ~1% of lung tumors. Distant metastatic IMT is extremely rare and has been poorly investigated. This analysis was specifically performed to explore the clinicopathological and genetic features of early distant metastatic IMT. Two typical patients with distant metastatic IMTs were selected, which accounted for 1.13% of all diagnosed IMTs in the last 5 years. One patient was a 55 year-old male, and the other patient was a 56 year-old female. Both primary tumors arose from the lung, and the initial clinical symptoms of the two patients involved coughing. Both of the imaging examinations showed low-density nodular shadows in the lungs with enhancement around the mass. Microscopically, dense arranged tumor cells, prominent cellular atypia, and high mitotic activity with atypical form were more prominent in the metastatic lesions than in the primary lesions. All of the primary and metastatic tumors in both cases showed positive anaplastic lymphoma kinase () immunostaining and  rearrangement  fluorescence  hybridization. The  (exon 6) (exon 20) fusion variant (v3a/b) was identified by using next-generation sequencing (NGS) and was verified by using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Furthermore, intronic variants of  and synonymous variants of  were also detected  NGS in one IMT for the first time and were verified in all of the primary and metastatic lesions  PCR. Distant metastasis occurred during a short period of time (1 and 2 months) after the first surgery. One patient presented with multiple metastases to the subcutaneous tissue and bone that responded to  inhibitor alectinib therapy, and the tumor was observed to regress 10 months after the initial  inhibitor therapy. In contrast, the other patient presented with subcutaneous neck metastasis without  inhibitor treatment and succumbed to the disease within 3 months after the surgery. This study demonstrated the possible role of -v3a/b in the malignant progression of IMT and proposed certain therapeutic effects of  inhibitors on multiple metastatic IMTs.

Case Report: Early Distant Metastatic Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor Harboring  Fusion Gene: Study of Two Typical Cases and Review of Literature.

The significance of  as a critical regulator in cancer has garnered substantial attention, primarily due to its catalytic activity as a deubiquitinating enzyme. Nonetheless, a thorough evaluation of  across various cancer types in pan-cancer studies remains absent. Our analysis integrates data from a variety of sources, including five immunotherapy cohorts, thirty-three cohorts from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and sixteen cohorts from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), two of which involve single-cell transcriptomic data. Our findings indicate that aberrant  expression is predictive of survival outcomes across various cancer types. The highest frequency of genomic alterations was observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), with single-cell transcriptome analysis revealing significantly higher  expression in plasmacytoid dendritic cells and mast cells. Notably,  expression was associated with the infiltration levels of CD8 T cells and natural killer (NK) activated cells. Additionally, in the skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) phs000452 cohort, patients with higher 1 mRNA levels during immunotherapy experienced a significantly shorter median progression-free survival.  emerges as a promising molecular biomarker with significant potential for predicting patient prognosis and immunoreactivity across various cancer types.
