Neutrophils have been shown to be involved in all stages of human and experimental abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) development. The initial processes of neutrophil rolling and trapping in the intraluminal thrombus (ILT) are mediated mainly by P-selectin expressed by activated platelets. In the present study, we propose to evaluate the beneficial effect of fucoidan, a competitive binding agent of P-selectin, on aneurysmal growth in a rat model of aortic aneurysm with neutrophil enrichment of the ILT induced by repeated episodes of weak bacteremia.

Fucoidan interferes with Porphyromonas gingivalis-induced aneurysm enlargement by decreasing neutrophil activation.

Neutrophiles ont &eacute;t&eacute; montr&eacute;s de participer &agrave; tous les stades de d&eacute;veloppement humaine et exp&eacute;rimentale aorte abdominale (AAA). Les processus initiales de neutrophiles de laminage et de pi&eacute;geage dans le thrombus intraluminal (ILT) sont m&eacute;di&eacute;s principalement par la P-s&eacute;lectine exprim&eacute;e par des plaquettes activ&eacute;es. Dans la pr&eacute;sente &eacute;tude, nous vous proposons d&#39;&eacute;valuer l&#39;effet b&eacute;n&eacute;fique du fucoidan, un agent de liaison comp&eacute;titive de la P-s&eacute;lectine, sur croissance an&eacute;vrysmal dans un mod&egrave;le de rat d&#39;an&eacute;vrisme de l&#39;aorte avec enrichissement neutrophil de l&#39;ILT induite par des &eacute;pisodes r&eacute;p&eacute;t&eacute;s de bact&eacute;ri&eacute;mie faible.

I neutrofili hanno dimostrati di essere coinvolti in tutte le fasi di sviluppo di aneurisma dell&#39;aorta addominale umana e sperimentale (AAA). I processi iniziali di rotolamento neutrofili e abbondanza nel Trombo intraluminale (ILT) sono mediati principalmente dal P-Selectina espressa da piastrine attivate. Nel presente studio, si propone di valutare l&#39;effetto benefico di fucoidan, un agente di legame competitivo di P-selectina, sulla crescita aneurismatica in un modello del ratto di aneurisma aortico con neutrofili arricchimento di ILT indotta da ripetuti episodi di batteriemia debole.

Fucoidan interferisce con l&#39;allargamento di Porphyromonas gingivalis-indotta aneurisma diminuendo l&#39;attivazione dei neutrofili.

Per quanto riguarda &quot;un multistrato dello stent nell&#39;aorta non pu&ograve; sigillare l&#39;aneurisma, portando cos&igrave; alla rottura&quot;.
