Human Approach Test

The Human Approach Test is a behavioral assay that measures an animal’s response when a person moves toward it or remains nearby, providing an index of approach motivation, fear, and tolerance of human contact. During a standardized trial, an observer controls variables such as approach speed, distance, posture, and duration while recording outcomes including latency to approach, withdrawal, freezing, vocalization, or physical contact. These responses help distinguish attraction from avoidance and can reveal effects of handling, socialization, housing, or prior experience. Used in animal behavior and welfare research, the test supports comparisons across individuals, conditions, and interventions.

Whole blood Immunophenotyping is indispensable for monitoring the human immune system. However, the number of reagents required and the instability of specific fluorochromes in premixed cocktails necessitates daily reagent preparation. Here we show that semi-automated preparation of staining antibody cocktail helps establish reliable immunophenotyping by minimizing variability in reagent dispensing.
