Fragment Analyzer Kit

A Fragment Analyzer Kit is a specialized set of reagents and consumables for measuring the size, concentration, and integrity of DNA or RNA fragments, making it valuable for reliable nucleic acid quality control. In automated capillary electrophoresis, an electric field drives fragments through a sieving polymer, separating them by length; fluorescent detection and an internal size standard then generate an electropherogram for fragment sizing and quantification. In bioengineering, these kits support PCR and sequencing library assessment, plasmid and synthetic construct verification, genotyping, and RNA quality analysis. Consistent fragment profiles help researchers identify degradation, confirm expected products, and improve the reproducibility of downstream experiments.

Habitat Fragmentation

2020

Habitat fragmentation describes the division of a more extensive, continuous habitat into smaller, discontinuous areas. Human activities such as land conversion, as well as slower geological processes leading to changes in the physical environment, are the two leading causes of habitat fragmentation. The fragmentation process typically follows the same steps: perforation, dissection, fragmentation, shrinkage, and attrition. Perforation and dissection often occur during the initial stages of...

The Protease Fluorescent Detection Kit is designed for the measurement of protease activity using fluorometry. It is also suitable for detection of trace amounts of protease contamination. The method is based on the proteolytic hydroysis of a proprietary formulation of a FITC-labeled casein substrate.

2011

Here we demonstrate the newly developed I•Cryo kit for mouse sperm cryopreservation. Two-cell stage embryo development with frozen-thawed sperm was improved consistently in 5 mouse strains with the use of this kit. Over a 1.5 year period, 49 genetically modified mouse lines were archived by sperm cryopreservation with the I•Cryo kit and later successfully recovered by IVF.
