Adherent Cell Culture

Adherent cell culture is a laboratory method for growing cells that require attachment to a surface, providing a controlled system for studying cell behavior, physiology, and responses to treatments. Cells are seeded onto treated culture vessels, where they attach, spread, and proliferate in nutrient-rich medium under suitable temperature, pH, and gas conditions; researchers routinely monitor confluence and passage cultures before they become overcrowded. This approach supports investigations of cell morphology, growth, migration, differentiation, and disease-related changes. It is also widely used in drug screening, toxicity testing, biotechnology, and tissue engineering, making it an important foundation for experimental biology.
