Anastomosis Technique

Anastomosis is a technique for creating a direct connection between two biological structures, most commonly tubular tissues such as blood vessels or sections of intestine. The method brings the structures into precise alignment and joins their edges with sutures, staples, or other devices, restoring continuity while maintaining an open passage and limiting leakage. In biology and biomedical research, anastomosis supports studies of circulation, digestion, wound healing, transplantation, and microsurgery. Its success depends on accurate tissue handling, adequate blood supply, mechanical stability, and appropriate healing, making it an important procedure for repairing or reconstructing damaged anatomical pathways.
