Ki Window Merging

Ki Window Merging is a computational method for combining neighboring analysis windows into larger, continuous units, helping biological data represent patterns that extend across adjacent intervals. The process compares nearby or overlapping windows using predefined criteria, such as shared signal, spatial proximity, or compatible measurements, and merges those that meet the required threshold while preserving meaningful boundaries between distinct features. This approach can reduce fragmentation, simplify complex datasets, and improve interpretation of biological patterns. In research workflows, Ki Window Merging supports more coherent analysis of measurements organized into discrete windows, providing a practical step for summarizing data and preparing it for downstream visualization or quantitative analysis.

Merging Ion Concentration Polarization between Juxtaposed Ion Exchange Membranes to Block the Propagation of the Polarization Zone

2017

The protocol for a novel ion concentration polarization (ICP) platform that can stop the propagation of the ICP zone, regardless of the operating conditions is described. This unique ability of the platform lies in the use of merging ion depletion and enrichment, which are two polarities of the ICP phenomenon.
