True Fisp Sequence

TrueFISP sequence is a rapid magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique based on balanced steady-state free precession, valued for high signal-to-noise ratio and strong fluid-to-tissue contrast. During each very short repetition interval, gradient areas are balanced in all three directions, allowing transverse magnetization to persist and reach a steady state that produces bright fluid signals and supports motion-sensitive imaging. In cancer research, this contrast helps visualize anatomy, fluid-containing structures, and lesion boundaries in applications such as abdominal, pelvic, and cardiac MRI. Its speed can support dynamic studies and reduce motion-related image degradation, aiding noninvasive assessment of tumor location and treatment response.

True Stress and True Strain

2024

Engineering stress is calculated as the load divided by the original, undeformed cross-sectional area. It approximates a material under load. This approximation is especially relevant post-yield in ductile materials. Though engineering stress-strain diagrams are often used for their convenience and accessibility, they can sometimes fall short in accuracy, particularly when dealing with large strain values. In contrast, true stress offers a more precise portrayal. It is computed by dividing the...

In vitro analysis of class switch recombination in mice is challenging due to cytophilic IgE molecules bound to Fc receptors on the surface of B cells. We describe a method for IgE detection using trypsin-mediated cleavage of surface-bound IgE prior to fixation and permeabilization for cytoplasmic fluorescence staining.

2012

Pooled DNA sequencing is a fast and cost-effective strategy to detect rare variants associated with complex phenotypes in large cohorts. Here we describe the computational analysis of pooled, next-generation sequencing of 32 cancer-related genes using the SPLINTER software package. This method is scalable, and applicable to any phenotype of interest.
