Sensitivity Screening Method

A sensitivity screening method is a systematic approach for determining how strongly an analytical procedure responds to changes in the concentration of a chemical substance, helping assess whether the method can detect and measure small amounts reliably. It typically compares instrument or assay signals across a defined concentration range and evaluates response relative to background variation, often using calibration data and detection or quantification limits. In chemistry, sensitivity screening supports the selection and optimization of analytical methods for samples, reagents, and reaction products. It can improve measurement quality, guide method validation, and identify procedures suitable for trace analysis or complex chemical matrices.

Whether senescence prevents or promotes tumorigenesis remains controversial. Since chemotherapeutical drugs can induce cancer cells to senesce, studying senescence is essential for proposing new therapies. However, the standard and broadly used β-galactosidase assay presents major drawbacks. We propose here a rapid and sensitive flow cytometry-based assay to quantify senescence.

Drug-induced Sensitization of Adenylyl Cyclase: Assay Streamlining and Miniaturization for Small Molecule and siRNA Screening Applications

Persistent activation of inhibitory G protein-coupled receptors results in sensitization of adenylyl cyclase signaling. To identify the essential molecular pathways, nonbiased approaches are necessary; however, this strategy requires the development of a scalable cell-based cAMP sensitization assay. Herein, we describe a sensitization assay for small molecule and siRNA screening.

We present an automated modular high-throughput-method for the identification and characterization of microbial exopolysaccharides in small scale. This method combines a fast preselection to analyze the total amount of secreted polysaccharides with a detailed carbohydrate fingerprint to enable the fast screening of newly isolated bacterial strains or entire strain collections.
