Gfp Filter Cube

A GFP filter cube is an optical component used in fluorescence microscopy to selectively illuminate and detect green fluorescent protein (GFP) signals in labeled cells and tissues. It contains an excitation filter, a dichroic mirror, and an emission filter: the excitation filter passes wavelengths that stimulate GFP, the mirror directs illumination toward the specimen while reflecting emitted light, and the emission filter transmits GFP fluorescence to the detector. In developmental biology, GFP filter cubes enable researchers to visualize gene expression, follow cell movements, and monitor tissue formation in living or fixed specimens. Their spectral selectivity improves signal contrast and supports accurate fluorescence-based imaging.

Passive Filters

2024

Passive filters are utilized to shape the frequency spectrum of signals across a diverse array of applications. These filters, using only passive elements like resistors (R), inductors (L), and capacitors (C), are capable of selectively allowing or blocking certain frequency ranges without the need for external power sources. Low-Pass Filters Low-pass filters are designed to transmit signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency, ωc, and attenuate those above it. The cutoff frequency...

2008

The hair follicle is a highly complex appendage of the skin containing a multiplicity of cell types. The follicle undergoes constant cycling through the life of the organism including growth and resorption with growth dependent on specific stem cells. The targeting of the follicle by genes and stem cells to change its properties, in particular, the nature of the hair shaft is, discussed. Hair follicle delivery systems are described, such as liposomes and viral vectors for gene therapy. The...

Active Filters

2025

Active filters are electronic circuits that use operational amplifiers (op-amps), resistors, and capacitors to filter out unwanted frequency components from a signal. A first-order low-pass active filter is designed to pass signals with a frequency lower than a certain cutoff frequency and attenuate frequencies higher than that cutoff frequency. The transfer function for a first-order low-pass active filter is: Where Af is the gain at low frequencies also known as the dc gain, s is the...
