C Sharp Scripting

C# scripting is the execution of C# code as lightweight scripts rather than only as compiled, standalone applications, making it useful for rapid experimentation, automation, and environment configuration. A scripting host reads source statements, resolves referenced assemblies and libraries, and compiles or executes them through the .NET runtime, often supporting interactive sessions and script files. In development and scientific computing environments, C# scripts can automate repetitive tasks, test APIs, transform data, and prototype program logic without creating a full project. This approach shortens feedback cycles while retaining access to the type safety, libraries, and runtime services of the C# ecosystem.

People tend to know what behavior is expected of them in specific, familiar settings. A script is a person’s knowledge about the sequence of events expected in a specific setting (Schank & Abelson, 1977). Essentially, scripts are a particular kind of schema, one containing default values for the features within an event. In the restaurant example, the script's features include the props (e.g., tables, menu, food, and money), the roles to be played (e.g., customer and waiter), the opening...
