Tim-3 Expression

Tim-3 expression refers to the abundance and cellular distribution of T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain containing-3 (Tim-3, encoded by HAVCR2), an immune-regulatory receptor whose levels change during immune activation and chronic infection. Following persistent antigen stimulation, activated T cells and some innate immune cells can increase Tim-3 on their surface; ligand binding, including to galectin-9, influences signaling that can limit cytokine production and contribute to an exhausted phenotype, although effects depend on cellular context. Measuring Tim-3 by flow cytometry, immunostaining, or gene-expression analysis helps characterize immune dysfunction, monitor infection, and evaluate checkpoint-targeted strategies in immunology research.

The low-energy water-accommodated fraction (LEWAF) of crude oil is a challenging system to analyze, because over time, this complex mixture undergoes chemical transformations. This protocol illustrates methods for the preparation of the LEWAF sample and for performing photo-irradiation and chemical analysis by trapped ion mobility spectrometry–FT-ICR MS.
