Emg Amplitude

EMG amplitude is the measured voltage of electrical activity generated by skeletal muscle and recorded through surface or needle electrodes, providing an indirect indicator of motor-unit activation. As muscle fibers depolarize during contraction, their motor-unit action potentials combine at the electrode; increasing recruitment and firing rates typically produce larger or denser EMG signals, while electrode placement and recording conditions also influence amplitude. In medicine, EMG amplitude supports assessment of neuromuscular function, helping clinicians and researchers evaluate muscle activation, distinguish patterns associated with nerve or muscle disorders, monitor rehabilitation, and quantify responses to treatment or movement.

Pulse amplitude and quality

Pulse amplitude is a crucial indicator of cardiac health because it provides valuable insights into the strength of left ventricular contractions and the overall uniformity of blood circulation within the vasculature. The strength of the pulse is directly related to the force with which the heart contracts and the volume of blood being pumped. A weak or absent pulse may indicate reduced cardiac output or poor left ventricular contraction, which can be signs of cardiovascular dysfunction or...

Development of an effective brain-machine-interface (BMI) system for restoration and rehabilitation of bipedal locomotion requires accurate decoding of user's intent. Here we present a novel experimental protocol and data collection technique for simultaneous non-invasive acquisition of neural activity, muscle activity, and whole-body kinematics during various locomotion tasks and conditions.

We present a method for achieving sub-nanometer resolution images with amplitude-modulation (tapping mode) atomic force microscopy in liquid. The method is demonstrated on commercial atomic force microscopes. We explain the rationale behind our choices of parameters and suggest strategies for resolution optimization.
