Gastroduodenal Artery Injection

Gastroduodenal artery injection is a selective angiographic technique that introduces contrast material into the gastroduodenal artery to visualize blood flow to the stomach and duodenum. During the procedure, a catheter is positioned within the artery, and injected contrast outlines the vessel and its branches on medical imaging, helping identify abnormal vascular patterns or sites of hemorrhage. In medicine, this approach supports the evaluation of gastrointestinal bleeding and guides interventional treatment, including planning for targeted embolization when appropriate. It also provides a practical view of upper abdominal vascular anatomy for diagnostic and procedural decision-making.

Targeting Liver Tumors with Oncolytic Viruses via the Hepatic Artery

2025

The video demonstrates locoregional delivery of oncolytic viruses through hepatic arterial injection as a therapeutic approach for hepatocellular carcinoma. These viruses selectively replicate in tumor cells, inducing cell lysis and releasing tumor cell-associated antigens. This process triggers immunogenic cell death, inducing an anti-tumor response.

Numerous genetic manipulations and/or intramyocardial injections of genes, proteins, cells, and/or biomaterials are superimposed upon the dimension of time in studies of acute ischemia/ reperfusion injury and chronic remodeling in mice. This video illustrates the microsurgical procedures for ischemia/reperfusion, permanent coronary artery ligation, and intramyocardial injection studies.

Intra-iliac Artery Injection for Efficient and Selective Modeling of Microscopic Bone Metastasis

This manuscript provides the detailed procedure of intra-iliac artery (IIA) injection, a technique to deliver cancer cells specifically to hind limb tissues including bones to establish experimental bone metastases. Although initially established with breast tumor models, this protocol can be easily extended to other cancer types.

Modeling Brain Tumor Metastasis via Internal Carotid Artery Injection of Cancer Cells

Source: Lim, M., et al. Modeling Brain Metastasis by Internal Carotid Artery Injection of Cancer Cells. J. Vis. Exp. (2022)In this video, an anesthetized mouse undergoes a surgical procedure in which cancer cells are injected into the common carotid artery (CCA) to facilitate targeted delivery to the brain. The procedure involves precise suturing and manipulation of the carotid arteries to direct the injected cells toward the internal carotid artery (ICA), promoting tumor formation in the brain...

Intrarenal Drug Delivery in Rats: A Method to Deliver Therapeutic Drugs in Rat Kidney via Intra-arterial Injection
