Neurosurgery Otolaryngology

Neurosurgery otolaryngology is an interdisciplinary field that combines neurological and ear, nose, and throat expertise to diagnose and treat disorders involving the brain, skull base, cranial nerves, and adjacent head and neck structures. Surgeons use detailed imaging and microsurgical or endoscopic approaches to reach anatomically complex regions while preserving neural function, often through the nasal passages when appropriate. This collaboration supports management of skull-base tumors, cerebrospinal-fluid leaks, selected vascular lesions, and conditions affecting hearing, balance, or facial nerve function. By integrating surgical planning, specialized anatomy, and postoperative care, the field advances less invasive treatment strategies in medicine.
