Td Tomato Labeling

TdTomato labeling is a genetic fluorescence method that marks selected cells with the red fluorescent protein tdTomato, allowing their location and fate to be monitored in biological tissues. In commonly used reporter systems, Cre recombinase activates tdTomato expression by removing a loxP-flanked stop sequence, producing persistent red fluorescence in targeted cells and their descendants. In medicine and biomedical research, this approach supports cell lineage tracing, tissue mapping, transplantation studies, and analysis of disease-related cellular changes. By linking genetic identity to a visible signal, TdTomato labeling helps researchers assess cell behavior, distribution, and contributions to tissue development or repair.

High-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS), with its 4x1-ring montage, is a noninvasive brain stimulation technique that combines both the neuromodulatory effects of conventional tDCS with increased focality. This article provides a systematic demonstration of the use of 4x1 HD-tDCS, and the considerations needed for safe and effective stimulation.

Source: Hassan, J. A., et al. High-Throughput Identification of Resistance to Pseudomonas syringae pv. Tomato in Tomato using Seedling Flood Assay. J. Vis. Exp. (2020).This video demonstrates a method to screen for bacterial resistance in different tomato strains using ten-day-old seedlings inoculated with a bacterial suspension. It explains how bacteria invade through stomata, deliver effector proteins to suppress plant immunity, and how plant responses differ between susceptible and resistant...
